Be Careful Out There.

Just a head's up.  The ice situation here in the north country is highly variable and while some places like lake Chocorua are pretty well set with ice thickness up to 9" there are areas that have just frozen.  And some other lakes have similar areas where the ice is much thinner than the rest of the lake.  We were able to see these areas but not there is snow falling and you won't know the thick spots from the thin by sight.  If you head our after this storm be sure to ask the locals about what to watch out for.  Stay safe, the season is just spooling up!

WARNING.  No ice is ever 100% safe.  We offer condition reports as a service to our students and clients who are familiar with the area and as a source of general condition information to others.  These reports are not intended to replace common sense or up to the minute first hand knowledge of a given area. Nor is it a substitute for common sense. When in doubt don't go out.
