Buying a new kite can be hard. Even if you read reviews in the magazines and on the manufacturer's websites then move on to reviews found in various kite forums found on the internet the information may not be the best.
The problem with researching this way is IT TELLS YOU ALMOST NOTHING. Lets face it obviously the manufacturer is probably not neutral about their product. And reviews by people in forums are based on the limited experience of the reviewer. And often a kite gets a bad review due more to the reviewer than the quality of the kite. Even if we tell you what we think about a kite, your experience with a given model may be different.
How do you know if a kite is right for you? Fly it for yourself.

The demo program is simple and open to all. Here's how it works...
1) Contact us in advance to confirm availability. Tell us what you are looking for and when you'd like to try it.
2) The day you'd like to demo we will meet at the site HWK has chosen for that day.
3) We will have you fill out the required paper work. To demo, you need a IKO, PASA Level 2 or greater certification or be a current or past Hardwater Kiting student or client. At very least an experienced kiter. Prior to all demos being released there will be a skills assessment. There's a one time $10 charge for the pre-demo skills assessment for first time HWK clients.
4) A credit card security deposit will be held for the duration of the demo and until the kite is returned and inspected.
5) Demo fees. These kites are primarily selling tools, not merely rentals. As such they are intended to be used by people in the market for the kite they demo or a similar kite. Non-HWK students pay a demo fee of $25 per hour. A kite can be demoed up to 4hrs per day. The demo fee, up to $300 will then be a credit toward the purchase of ANY depower kite we or our suppliers offer. HWK students and current customers interested in purchasing or simply trying a kite will not be charged a demo fee.
We have a variety of kites that we use for teaching and for demo that we feel are well suited for the Northern New England snowkite environment. Options range from your standard Ozone Access to more exotic Flysurfer Peaks and even high performance wings like the Ozone R1, Chrono 2, Flysurfer Sonic and HQ Zeekai.
Come check them out.
