Results for week one of the 2016 Hardwater Kiting GSR are in and in spite of the less than optimal conditions many are experiencing in terms of speed ranking conditions people are out having fun and submitting some entries. Many new participants that we haven't seen in rankings past which always makes us smile. :-) We're psyched to see the entries from up north. Guy Lebrun from Quebec, has taken the lead for the first week with a top speed of 45.36. Congratulations Guy! Nice to see some of the regulars as well as new participants representing the Mid-west. As winter has finally started to show up in the a few places that have been lacking we hope to see more speedy kiters coming back to the ranking, setting some new personal bests as well as going for the title of fastest for the season. I've been in contact with the Fast Finns and they are starting to get conditions. We have just recently gotten conditions here in the Northeast and there's a big freeze finally in just east of the Mississippi so we hope to see some entries from Wisconsin and Michigan riders for week 2. Deadline for week 2 entries is January 15th! We want to mention that we had an enthusiastic early entry from Richard Leoppky back in NOVEMBER. While we were just starting to think about snow kite season he was laying down fat speeds on his Peter Lynn Leopard with a top speed of 34.6 mph. Depending on how spring works out for him, he might have the longest season out of all of us this year! Thanks to everyone who submitted speed this week. We appreciate your support and we look forward to seeing you all next week! Brian Beveridge on his home turf in Manitoba.
