  As you can see from the image of above of Molly we've actually had some pretty stellar conditions in some of the northern locations we frequent. But then some are not so good. some of the lakes that would normally be 100% good to go have been messed up by the variable precept and weather. Umbagog for example has an ice sheet on the lower lake but at some point is got swamped and then and it began to freeze the water layer on top of the ice they were hit with about 10" of snow. The end result is a layer of slush covered ice on top of 4" of water on top of an unknown thickness of ice. Not great to say the least. Meanwhile the ice we have locally that was messed up by the recent snow was saved by the following warm up and we now have some fairly consistent ice sheets here now.  Chocorua is variable thickness 4-7" of grey junk ice at the moment. It's rideable for riders who are familiar with the area and the potential thin spots on the lake but we wouldn't send someone out there. We have rain in the Christmas forecast and that hopefully will fix Umbagog and other lakes in similar condition. Locally it will smooth out the ice and make for some easy Hardwater ice riding and probably some awesome ice skating. We will do another condition report after the Christmas rains. In the meantime Molly and I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and just say how much we look forward to seeing all of our Hardwater Kiting friends again this season!
