 By and large we have a lot of snow on pretty much all the lakes. Conditions are variable as the snow has been very light and dry and shifted in the winds that followed the snow storms. The results have been everything from subtle waves to 3 foot high drifts punctuated by boiler plate. The continued new snow has done much to fill in the spots between the waves and smoothed some things out a bit but areas like the broads off Ellacoya on Winne are a mix of hard glass ice and wind slab. Other lakes like Squam are more homogenized and smoother.
Last weekend was the fishing derby so be on the lookout for slush around the spots where people were fishing as well as snow piles left behind that may be hard to see in overcast/flat light. Ice thickness almost everywhere is more than enough to support snowkiting at this point. Just be mindful still of inlets and outlets etc. We've been fortunate to get wind on some lakes that we don't usually get and have taken advantage of this to gain access to areas that have up to 3 feet of just the nicest powder we've seen in years.
