Here we are into week 3 and Guy Lebrun is taking full advantage of his current speed conditions, breaking the 70 mph barrier and taking 1st place for the third week in a row! Again, well done Guy! Anyone who has either broken the 70 mph mark or has tried to knows how hard it can be. Looking at Guy's tracks he had multiple runs in the mid 60 mph range and it is clear he has the conditions, the drive and the skills to push the envelope. His 70.87 speed is the average of the multiple data sources he supplied as per the HWK Global Speed Ranking rules. Richard Loeppky and Brian Beveridge round out the top three spot this week as they seem to being going head to head out there in Manitoba. All three top spots are being held by Canadians this week which I think is a first in the GSR. Robert Bocik is the top U.S. rider this week beating out some of the fastest riders in the ranking and almost taking 3rd place held by Brian Beveridge. Nice work Robert!
On a side note we want to give Jim Cline a shout out and congratulate him on reaching 15,000 snow kite miles logged since he started snow kiting. Amazing! We already have submissions coming in for week 4 and we will continue to take week for submissions until Jan. 29th. Please remember to use the GSR entry form for all speed ranking submissions. Thanks again to everyone who entered a speed this week. We appreciate your participation and really enjoy watching people progress! Deadline for week 4 submissions is Jan. 29th!
